Farewell
Last night we bid farewell to Phil's parents for the next 18 months. They left for a missionary trip to Sierra Leone, Africa today & will be back in September 2010. It was hard to say good bye, but we're very excited for them and hope the best for their journey ahead!
Parker was pretty sad but even after saying goodbye, he doesn't understand that they are gone for a long time. When I got home from work today, he asked if we could go to Grandma's house and I had to remind him that Grandma & Grandad left for Africa and will be away for a while. He just said, but can we go to Grandma's? ... obviously it won't be clear until the next time we go to their house, and they're not there...that's when I think he will actually understand.
Good bye for now & see you soon!

And for the encore.... 3 months later
Since I have received so many requests from all our fans; I decided to publish yet another post! Today's topic? Hmm, good question.....
Guess most people wanna hear about the little ones! Poor little Parker J seems to be going through a wreckless phase, and I'm hoping it doesn't last too long! On Wednesday he was playing in the garage with a little yellow truck his Grandma Robin bought for him and he took a spill. Since both his hands were pushing the truck; his face caught his little fall. He had an egg sized lump on his forehead & he had 3 thrash marks along the left side of his face.
Well that brings us to Thursday when he was driving his green tractor on our hard wood floors & yep.. you guessed it. He lost his balance and landed on the same exact part of his face from the day before, except this time it opened up the cuts that were already there, and blood was flowing from his little face!! It was so sad, and now that it's scabbing up, it looks like we beat him up.
So, yesterday he's playing in the back of our house and with Braden inside the Radio Flyer wagon and ran himself right into the brick wall. His hand was between the wall and the handle of the wagon and he started screaming bloody murder. His little hand was bleeding and once his hand was cleaned up we saw that he had tore off the tip of his thumb nail and all. So he was really cranky all night and when we finally got him to lay down, we quickly realized it was the thumb that he sucks to go to bed that was injured and all wrapped up in a band aid, because he kept saying yuck.. then crying and yelling about how he wants the band-aid off. We take the band-aid off and he then he starts yelling about how bad his thumb hurts and upset since he still couldn't suck it. Needless to say, he continuously woke up throughout the night crying about how his thumb hurt, and we would have to remind him to suck his other thumb.
